Dominion Physical Therapy, LLC Aaron treats the spectrum of orthopedic disorders including athletes utilizing his training in orthopedic manual therapy through Michigan State Universities School of Osteopathic Medicine CME Program where he trained under medical doctors, osteopaths and physical therapists who trained in manual medicine with Dr. Phillip Greenman, DO, and Dr. John Mennell, MD.

About this speaker

Aaron graduated from Randolph-Macon College with a degree in biology and a minor in psychology while playing collegiate football. He continued on to work at Johns Hopkins School of Genetic Medicine in Baltimore, MD where he conducted human genetics research. He then earned his Doctorate degree in physical therapy (DPT) from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University.

There he also participated in the VA-LEND program (Leadership Excellence in Neuro-developmental Disabilities). During this program, he received additional education and experience in leadership, evaluation and treatment of pediatric patients as well as federal and state health care laws and services. He continued to practice as a physical therapist and as a high school football coach becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He has served as a consultant for high school and college athletic programs on strength and speed training as well as injury prevention and rehabilitation of athletes. He next earned his Board Certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.

Aaron has continued to receive additional focused schooling through many continued education courses including Michigan State University’s School of Osteopathic Medicines where he received his certification in Certified Functional Manual Medicine (CFMM). He is only 1 of 4 therapists in the state of Virginia with this extensive training and certification. In addition, he received training in evidenced based dry needling to become a Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist (CMTPT). He specializes in orthopedic and sports injuries with a particular interest in spine disorders. Aaron is a Certified Clinical Instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association and has instructed doctoral students in physical therapy in the clinic environment and in the classroom setting. In addition, he has continually mentored students interested in pursuing different careers including physical therapy. He has been a private practice owner since 2012 and opened Dominion Physical Therapy, LLC in 2020.
